Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an inspection device with mass processing capacity and improve in its inspection reliability by detecting stains, cracks, etc., in the line shaped regions on the outside and inside of a bottle from the brightness ratio of the images of the regions. CONSTITUTION:Incident light is scattered at the intersection O of a light flux L and the outer surface of the wall of a glass bottle B and at the intersection I of the light flux and the inner surface, and a lens l converges the scattered light and projects images at the points O and I on a screen C. The image So of O and the image Si of I enlarged and projected on the screen are formed at positions separated by a distance a little contracted than the thickness of the bottle wall. By installing a photoelectric converter element Po at the position which receives the light of the image So and a photoelectric converter Pi at the position which receives the light of the image Si, and analyzing the relation of the brightness of the image So with that of Si, the bottle is inspected.
