Abstract
PURPOSE:To inspect the subject body with high speed and high accuracy by obtaining the reflected light from the spherical body to be inspected the projected image is formed on the surface of the photoelectric conversion element and the output signal of the element is processed and identified. CONSTITUTION:The steel ball 1 is rotated with the drive rollers 21 and 22 driven by the drive gear 3. The projection part 6 is so composed of an optical fiber that even light is projected over at least the semi-circumference of the steel ball 1 while the positive reflection is maintained in the relation between the image formation systems 51-54 and the center of the view field of the surface of the steel ball 1. The light is supplied by the lamp 7. The reflected light from the steel ball 1 is detected by the solid image pickup arrays 81-84, the outputs therefrom are processed or identified by the processing/identification circuit 9.
