Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the burden of a language processing system, and to execute its processing at a high speed, by alternately switching and outputting a result to the following two selectors whenever an operating circuit processes a selecting output of the selector. CONSTITUTION:A selector 60 selectively outputs one of a converting output of a code/numerical value converter 40 or contents held by a register 20, in accordance with whether the holding contents are a code part or not. Subsequently, an operating circuit 70 inputs selecting outputs of selectors 50, 60, and executes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This processor is provided with a register 80 for selecting one of lower N/2 bit of an output of this circuit 70, a hexadecimal number value showing a negative code, or a hexadecimal number value showing a positive code. Also, it is provided with a register 90 for selecting one of upper N/2 bit of the output of the circuit 70 or a hexadecimal number value ''0''. In this state, at every selection of the selector 60, the circuit 70 switches and outputs its result in order of the selectors 80, 90 and 90, 80.
