Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain on effluent satisfactory in respect of the total load of a sludge amount, by adding an iron or aluminum ion into the slurry of a biologically treated organic waste liquid, mechanically dewatering the slurry, neutralizing the mechanically separated effluent, and reusing the effluent as treated water.
CONSTITUTION: An organic waste liquid 1 flows into a biological reaction vessel 2. A portion of slurry in the vessel 2 flows into a concentration step 3. Concentrated sludge 4 is returned to the vessel 2, while a concentration effluent 5 is mixed with outflowing slurry 6. The resulting mixed slurry 7 flows into a reservoir 8. Thereafter, an iron ion or aluminum ion is added to the mixed slurry 7 in a reagent-charging vessel 9. Under an acidic condition, the mixed slurry is separated into dewatered cake 13 and an effluent 14 by a mechanical dehydrator 12. An alkali 11 is added to the separated effluent 14, the effluent is then neutralized in a neutralization vessel 17 and separated into purified water 16 and precipitating sludge 20 in a sedimentation pool 15.
