Abstract
PURPOSE: To reducen a load for treatment with active sludge, while removing pollutants at the same time, in a deep-layer aerating vessel comprising the descending and ascending currents of liquid to be purified and a depth of 20m or more, by agglutinating the pollutants to formed bubbles.
CONSTITUTION: Liquid A to be purified is introduced through the liquid-inflow pipe 10 of an opened air vessel 9, while compressed air C blown upwards into an ascending pipe 2 through a circulating air blowing pipe 4 to start the circulation of the liquid. Thereafter, compressed air C through a purifying air blowing pipe 3 is gradually increased in quantity and blown in downwards, so that a dissolved oxygen amount increases in proportion to a water head owing to the pressure of the deep layer. Consequently, the biochemical oxidizing efficiency of active sludge can be enhanced. When gaseous components dissolved in the opened air vessel 9 are separated, bubbles are formed by surface active substances contained in the water to be purified. The bubbles are introduced into a bubble removing chamber 5 and separated from the purified water.
