CONSTITUTION: Water, to be purified, is let flow through a water inflow pipe 7 into a vessel 1, while an air inflow pipe 4 is horizontally rotated at a speed of 1W10RPM inside the vessel 1 by operation of a motor 14 or a blower 5 so that air is let flow out as fine bubbles through the air inflow pipe 4. BOD components in the water, to be purified, are oxidized and removed by the action of bacteria contented in the layer of a filler 2, and the purified water is drained through a purified water-discharging pipe 8. Since the air inflow pipe 4 is horizontally rotated, the bubbles can be fed to the whole of the vessel 1. Consequently, the aerobic biological purification can be effectively performed.
