Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain highly purified water while preventing the water from becoming turbid after purified, by maintaining a specific bacteria breeding speed in a disposal vessel, an adsorption speed coefficient onto a packed material and a dilution rate at a specified relation therebetween in the process of disposing waste water with bacteria.
CONSTITUTION: A packed material 2 is arranged in the disposal vessel 1 of a contact aeration disposal apparatus. A stock water is introduced through an inlet 5 into the vessel 1, while a purified water is discharged through an outlet 6. In this process, the condition in the disposal vessel 1 shall be maintained to meet the requisition of μ<D+A (in the formula, μ represents a specific bacteria breeding speed h-1, D represents a dilution rate h-1, and A represents an adsorption speed coefficient h -1 of bacteria onto the packed material). A sparger 3, having an air- charging hole for the generation of air bubbles 4, is arranged in the disposal vessel 1 to generate a turbinal current in the disposal vessel 1. As another embodiment, a sparger 3', having a plurality of air-charging holes, may be arranged at a part below the packed material 2 in the disposal vessel 1.
