Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently separate and remove suspensions containing split excessive bacteria films, by providing a fluidized bed type sewage decontamination apparatus with a floatation device communicating with an outlet of treated water.
CONSTITUTION: A sewage to be treated is introduced through a line 1 into a water vessel 3 of a sewage decontamination apparatus, where carriers with adhering bacteria including aerobic ones flow in the sewage so as to separate and remove organics in the sewage. The charged sewage flows upwards along a partition wall 4 with carriers, as shown by the arrows in the drawing, by the airlift action of compressed air from a compressed water nozzle 6. During this movement, organics in the sewage is decomposed and the treated water is discharged through the outlet 2. On the other hand, bacteria films on the carriers grow fat. A part of the films is split from the carriers and discharged as flocks with the treated water through the outlet to a separation chamber 10A of a floatation device 7. In the chamber 10A, the flocks are floated by fine air bubbles from a pressure nozzle 9, and gathered through a separation chamber 10B to a recovering chamber 11 by a scraper 15.
