Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove exfoliated sludge without stirring the inside of the sediment separating chamber, by installing a flow transferring device which is also used for solid-liquid separation, to a partition board which separates the sediment separating chamber and contact aerating chamber.
CONSTITUTION: The waste water enters into sediment separating chamber 6 from a pipe 4, and delivered to a contact aerating chamber 7 through a flow transferring device 5, after large sized solid materials are removed as a sedimented sludge. The waste water is purified in the contact aerating chamber 7 by oxygen supplied from an air diffusing cylinder and a biomembrane fixed to a soaked filter material 8, and discharged from a discharge pipe 12 through a sedimentation chamber 10 and a disinfecting chamber 11. On the other hand, biomembranes excessively grown are exfoliated from the soaked filter material 8 and circulately moved in the contact aerating chamber 7. The aerated and mixed liquid containing the excessive biomembranes enters into the flow transferring device 5 from a flow transferring port 14a installed in a flow transferring pipe 13a by an air blowing up jet of an air diffusing device located above the water surface of the contact aerating chamber 7, and the liquid is separated into exfoliated sludge 15 and a supernatant liquid. The sludge 15 returns to the sediment separating chamber 6 and the supernatant liquid to the contact aerating chamber 7 through another flow transferring port 14b.
