Abstract
PURPOSE: To carry out the aeration of an extremely deep layer simply and certainly in a low power cost by blowing a high concn. oxygen gas into a downflow stream while a liquid to be treated is recirculated by the principle of an air lift pump.
CONSTITUTION: If air is injected from an air diffuser 5, a liquid 11 to be treated in a tank is raised between a casing 1 and a partition 2 by principle of an air lift pump to be introduced into the partition 2 and flowed downwardly in the partition 2 at a speed increased due to the reduction of a cross area of a flow passage and turned to an upward stream by a guide of a casing bottom surface 1a. If, into a downflow stream of the liquid 11 to be treated recirculated betwen a shallow layer and an extremely deep layer in the tank, a high concn. oxygen gas is blown from a diffuser 7, the high concn. oxygen gas is pushed into the extremely deep layer while stirred and dissolved in the liquid 11 efficiently corresponding to a height of a liquid pressure to carry out aeration. In this time, a waste water and a returned sludge are respectively supplied into the casing from arranged pipes 9, 10 and the treated liquid is exhausted from an arranged pipe 4.
