Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a stationary circulation flow speedily upon resuming the operation, in an apparatus for cycling carrier particles, to which aerobic bacteria are adhered, with air bubbles, by arranging an injection disturber for pulverizing mudd balls.
CONSTITUTION: Sewage supplied into a fluid vessel 1 rises with carrier particles 5 through an air lift pipe 8 by aerating from a sparger 6, and then falls down outside the pipe 8 for circulation. Aerobic bacteria breed on the carrier 5 to form a biomembrane adhered thereto, and are cycled to biologically decompose and separate organic substances in the sewage.
