Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a deep layer aeration together with its whole surface without necessity of an expensive complex installation system or generation of noise, by feeding air into a pipe on the midway of a cycle pipe for sucking and cycling a liquid from an aerating vessel, and dispersing the air near the bottom of the aerating vessel.
CONSTITUTION: Disposed water is overflowed from a deep layer aerating vessel 1 at a rate corresponding to an amount of sewage charged through a conduit 1a into the vessel 1. The liquid in the vessel 1 is sucked up through a pipe part 2b of a reversed U-shaped cycle pipe 2 by a pump P. Air is injected from a mixer 3 into a downflow pipe 2a at a position above the water level. The air is minimized during its descending flow through the pipe 2a, dissolved in the liquid with high efficiency, and discharged as fine air bubbles with the water near the bottom 1' of the vessel 1. Consequently, the liquid passing through the pipe 2 is discharged in the pipe, while the liquid in the vessel 1 which does not flow through the pipe 2 is discharged by a disperser 9 near the bottom 1'. As a result, the whole of the liquid is completely aerated by the air rising through the vessel 1.
