Abstract
PURPOSE: To minimize the floor space for aeration tank as well as enhance the efficiency of aeration by making an aeration treatment while flowing polluted water down plurally staged trays.
CONSTITUTION: In an aeration treatment in which pollutants are spewed forth from the bottom 9 onto the tray 8 at the uppermost stage by the pump 10, and then flows down naturally while being aerated with air present in the air and the polluted water of the tray 8 to return to the bottom 9 again, the polluted water is, after a repeated treatment until organics present in polluted water are decomposed to a desired level, introduced into the final sedimentation basin through the water feed pipe 7a, where sedimentating treatment is made and the treated water is discharged to the outside. Thus, the floor space for the aeration tank can be minimized and also the aeration efficiency per the amount of air supplied can be raised, permitting the reduction of the capacity of air blower.
