Abstract
PURPOSE: To gain the treated water of favourable clarification with a high treating efficiency by the method, wherein sewage is made to circulate between a treating vessel and aeration mechanisms continuously, and its one part is made to proceed into a separating chamber, where activated sludge is settled to remove, then sent to an aeration vessel directly.
CONSTITUTION: Sewage flow 17 to be treated is introduced into the bottom of a primary aeration chamber 6, is supplied with oxygen, is rendered a welling-up force in liquid by the air from a diffuser 9, ascends inside the chamber 6, and proceeds into a settler 7. The liquid having reached the bottom of the settler 7, enters a cecondary aeration chamber 8, and there exposes itself to the blast of gaseous oxygen of high concentration from a diffuser 10. Namely, the liquid in a treating vessel 1 is circulated in a following route: from the primary aeration chamber 6, the settler 7, and the secondary aeration vessels 8 to the treating vessel 1. And with this circulating liquid, the in- flow sewage meets at the bottom of the primary aeration chamber 6, and the liquid equivalent to this in-flow sewage quantity is taken off from a separating chamber 13, in this moment being subject to the filtering effect by sludge particles. And activated sludge settled in the separating chamber 13 is returned into the secondary aeration chamber 8 through a sludge pipe 16, so that there is no decrease in activity.
