Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform solid-liquid separation satisfactorily by providing a flocculating tank accelerating solid-liquid separation in a water treatment device by supplying activated sludge and oxygen-contg. gas.
CONSTITUTION: A descending flow passage R1 and an ascending flow passage R2 are formed deep in the ground, and a circulation flow passge 3 by a pump P is provided to the upper part of both passages. The water to be treated contg. activated sludge is blown with an oxygen-contg. gas (r) and is thereby aerated. While circulating, its org. components are captured by the activated sludge. This treated water flows through a take-out passage (r1) and a pipe 7 for deaeration and enters a flocculating tank 5. Here, the treated water is agitated slowly by an air diffusion pipe 6, and stagnates there for a prescribed time to allow the flocs sufficient for accelerating solid-liquid separation to grow. If the water is subjected to solid-liquid separation in a solid-liquid separating tank 8 after this, the efficiency of separation is improved.
