Abstract
PURPOSE: To simultaneously remove BOD components, phosphates and nitrogen compounds within sewage efficiently and stably by a mechanism wherein a treating tank in which solid particles having grown biological membrane are suspended and floated is operated at a high dissolved BOD volume load under an aerobic condition.
CONSTITUTION: A sewage is introduced into a stirring chamber 4 of an aeration tank 1 from an arraged pipe 9 and is contacted with solid particles having grown biological membrane thereon suspended and floated by a stirring means 3 under an aerobic condition by air introduced from an arranged pipe 2. In this case, if the BOD volume load of an aerotion tank is set to 10W50kg BOD/m2/day to maintain a high load, BOD components are decomposed as well as phosphates and nitrogen compounds are also assimiated by enlarged biological membrane and increased released sludge. Subsequently, treated water and released sludge are separated in a precipitating and separating chamber 5 from particles 6 and a supernant A and an excessive sludge B are separated respectively in a precipitation tank 8, thereafter exhausted respectively.
