Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the blow-out of water to be treated as well as obtain an inexpensive earthquake-proof structure by using an activated sludge treatment apparatus in which various kinds of waste waters are circulated in a deep descending path and a ascending path connected to the former while degassing from a gaseous phase zone being provided with a simple structure specifically.
CONSTITUTION: The descending path A and the ascending path B, difference in level between which is 100m, for example, are formed and connected to the pumping-up path C through the tank 3 and the pump P and also to the oxygen-containing gas supply path 8. Water to be treated is circulated in the three paths A, B, and C to dissolve oxygen gas into the water to be treated, containing activated sludge, for treatment of waste water with activated sludge. The pumping-up path C is built up by bending the piping 11a into a reverse U-shaped form, connecting the large- diameter piping 12 to the upper part of the inner cylinder 1, and connecting the exhaust pipe 14 to the gaseous phase zone D formed when water to be treated falls freely from the top-widened pipe 13 to the large-diameter pipe 12.
