Abstract

PURPOSE: To discharge the total nitrogen amt. in sewage in a pollution-free state effectively and inexpensively by packing the soil which contains carbon source materials and in which briquette structure is developed in an impervious tank and the parts from this up to a seepage device.
CONSTITUTION: When sewage is flowed in a discharge pipe 6, the sewage leaches into packings 8, seeps into soil 12 through aluminum 9 and is once stored in a lower impervious tank 10. While the sewage seeps from the seepage device in the upper part down into the tank 10 in the lower part, denitrifying bacteria are propagated by carbon sources 11 with these as nutrient sources. On the other hand, since the amt. of the sewage supplied from the pipe 6 fluctuates usually, the sewage level 13 in the tank 10 fluctuates vertically in accordance with this. If the water levle is high, the denitrifying bacteria are easier to act and if it is low, the nitrifying bacteria are easier to act. As these act altrnately, the denitrification is accelerated.
