Abstract
PURPOSE:To supply a developer, which is charged positively, to a fiber-brush developing roller quantitatively, by coating a developer on the fiber-brush developing roller with the developer through a coating roller where the developer on the roller is restrained with a developer restraining member. CONSTITUTION:Toner 8 is supplied quantitatively from a hopper 7 onto a conductive rubber roller 9 through a toner restraining member 10. The toner restraining member is made of ''Mylar '' or nylon and makes the toner charged positively or negatively by friction. The charged toner is supplied to a developing roller 11 which has a fiber brush 12. When a bias voltage is applied between the developing roller and a coating roller 9, the toner can be made to move to the developing roller efficiently and securely. When a uniformly flattening member 16 provided with a fiber brush 18 on its surface is brought into contact with the developing roller, the amount of the toner is made uniform and friction charging is also performed.
