Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance reproductivity by using the first developing process for developing a electrostatic latent image with the first developer containing a toner having a large quantity of charge and the subsequent second developing process using the second developer containing a toner having a smaller quantity of charge. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image formed in advance is retained on the surface of a photosensitive drum 3, this image is developed first with the first developing device 1, and then with the second developing device 2. A toner having a large quantity of charge is sufficiently attached to the line image parts and the edges of the face image parts by large electrostatic attraction force. Since this attached toner is not easily scraped off by friction of the edge of a magnetic brush, even the line image parts and the edges of the face image parts can be sufficiently developed sharply.
