Abstract

PURPOSE:To stick a toner uniformly and homogeneously on a fibrous brush, and obtain a developed image having no ground fogs and no ghosts by using a developer coating member having the fibrous brush. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous brush 10 is provided directly or via an elastic body on the circumference of a developing roller 12. A high resistance magnetic toner is contained in a hopper 7, and the toner is conveyed to the developing region of a photoreceptor as the developing roller revolves. A member 14 for defining the replenishing amt. of the toner is disposed at the outlet of the hopper and a fibrous coating brush 11 is disposed on the down stream of said member in such a way as to rub the developing brush in order to apply the electric charge charged by friction to the toner. The member for regulating the replenishing amt. of the toner and the coating brush may be formed of the same member and it is equally well to constitute the coating brush of a rotator.
