Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent toner from scattering during the high-speed rotation of a roller by arranging a regulating member which regulates the thickness of a developer and by making the part opposing to the roller of the regulating member with a curved surface with a relatively large radius of curvature of 2-15mm.. CONSTITUTION:The part opposing to roller 7 of regulating member 8 is made into a curved surface with a relatively large radius of curvature of 2-15mm.. After the regulating member passes by, the developer made uniform in thickness is transferred to a developing roller at the counter parts of developing roller 6 and supply roller 7. When the developing roller is givein rolling friction with the developer on the supply roller, the developer is charged by the friction to stick onto the developing roller as an even thin layer. The interval between regulating member 8 and the supply roller is set to 0.5mm. and supply roller 7 and developing roller 6 are rotated at peripheral speeds of 700mm./s and 350mm./s. In this case, the toner does not flocculate at the opposite part to the supply roller of the regulating member and no toner scatters.
