Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable highly accurate one-side rolling control by measuring the gap between upper and lower work roll chocks of driving side and working side by a measuring piece that directly contacts with the chocks. CONSTITUTION:Measuring devices are attached to cylinder blocks 5, 5' that from a roll gap G at the end between roll chocks 2, 4 of the driving side and working side of upper and lower work rolls 1, 3. A cylindrical plunger 15 fitted between outer and inner cylinders 10, 11 of the device can be raised or lowered by introduction of fluid from ports 16, 16', and a measuring piece 18 that contacts with the chock center is fixed to a blocking plate 17 of the chock side. A measuring piece 20 having plural holes 19 is fixed to the lower face, and a magnet coil 21 that enclose the piece 20 is fixed to the upper end of the cylinder 11, and a signal is sent by a cable 22. The expressionIis set in a state of load O (G=0), and displacement from this state is calculated by the expression II. The difference between gaps G, G' of the driving side and working side is determined, and control is made by sending one-side rolling command to succeeding stand based on the difference.
