Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a roll bending device capable of working in a decrease bending work without installing any additional hydraulic cylinder, by making an end of a rod fully inserted into a vertical hole of an intermediate roll chock contact with a bending device attached to a backup roll chock, and another end contact with a work roll chock. CONSTITUTION:A vertical through hole 11 is bored in a chock 10 of an intermediate roll 3 arranged between an upper work roll 1 and an upper backup roll 2, at a position coincident on a plane with the position of a hydraulic cylinder 7 set in a chock 8 of the roll 2 when a rod 12 is inserted into this hole 11. A rod 12 of a prescribed length is fully inserted into this hole 11; the top end of a spring 14, set in a side chamber 13 formed in the hole 11, is connected with a bracket 15 attached to the upper part of the rod 12; hereby, the rod 12 is upheld at a prescribed vertical position against the chock 10 so as not to drop off of the chock 10. When controlling the decrease bending work, each hydraulic cylinder 4 set in each block 5 is placed under a constricted condition, and upper and lower hydraulic cylinders 7 are placed under an extended condition; the decrease bending work is controlled under these conditions. Hereupon, the bending load of the upper hydraulic cylinder 7 is impressed upon a roll chock 6 and the roll chock 10 is perfectly free from the bending load. As a result, the intermediate roll 3 is free from the influence of the bending force, and the upper work roll 1 fully receives the essential bending effect.
