Abstract
PURPOSE:To make shape better by symmetrizing the distribution of load and by levelling metal to be rolled by the method in which any of rolls for rolling is made into a large diameter for its one end and also into a small diameter for its another end the roll diameter is gradually made smaller from the one end to another. CONSTITUTION:In the case of rolling, operation is made by the intermediate upper and lower rolls 3 and 4 toward the axial direction to the position at which the point 0 is centered. When a load is applied to asymmetrical rolling mill by the pressure lowering device 7, all of the intermediate upper and lower rolls 3 and 4 are deformed (continuous line), where the upper and lower spare rolls 5 and 6 and the upper and lower operation rolls 1 and 2 are thus drformed, but the left side of the intermediate upper roll 3 becomes smaller than the right side, differently from the conventional case in which the left side is larger than the right side. The same is true of the lower operation roll 4. Thus, by arranging the main roll, the inclination of the axial line of the intermediate rolls and operation rolls is eliminated and the metal to be rolled is made horizontal.
