Abstract
PURPOSE:To shift one end of roll chocks of upper and lowe rolling rolls in order to prevent genreation of the camber,and to improve the yield, by installing the load cell at one end of the roll chocks of upper and lower rolling rolls, and by making another end horizontally shiftable. CONSTITUTION:When the camber C1 or C2 generates in the hot strip S being rolled by the upper and lower work rolls 1, the roll chock 2a receives a thrust load corresponding to the extent of the camber. At this moment, the load cell 3 at once detects the thrust load of the upper and lower rolls 1 and inputs it to the controller 4. Then the controller 4 compares this input with the previously set reference value for making the thrust load to be zoro, and produces the working signal corresponding to the detected value as the command to be given to the roll gap adjusting mechanism; according to this command, the upper and lower rolling rolls 1 are horizontally shifted for always making the thrust load zero; hereby, the camber is controlled.
