Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor enhanced and stabilized in sensitivity, charging characteristics, etc., by adding a specified hydrazone derivative as a charge transfer material, etc. to a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic receptor contains a specified hydrazone derivative such as diethylaminobenzaldehyde-N, N-diphenylhydrazone, represented by the general formula in which R1 is optionally substituted naphthyl; R2 is optionally substituted alkyl or aralkyl or aryl; R3 is H, alkyl, or alkoxy; and R4 and R5 are optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl. This hydrazone derivative can be applied to every type of electrophotographic receptor. Especially when it is used as a charge transfer material, sensitivity of a photoreceptor is improved and the remaining potential is lowered. In addition, deterioration of sensitivity and rise of the remaining potential can be suppressed to a negligible degree even in the time of repeated uses.
