Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a receptor having high sensitivity, low residual potential and superior durability and causing less reduction in the surface potential, sensitivity, etc. even after repeated use by adding a glyoxal-bishydrazone compound as a charge transferring agent to a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A bishydrazone compound of glyoxal represented by the formula (where each of R1 and R2 is optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl or aryl, yet both of the them are not alkyl) is dispersed on a binder and applied to a charge generating layer formed on an electrically conductive support to form a charge transferring layer. The photosensitive layer of the resulting electrophotographic receptor is flexible. the receptor has high sensitivity, low residual potential and enhanced durability, and it causes less deterioration in the characteristics even after repeated use.
