Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity of an electrophotographic receptor and to prevent deterioration of the sensitivity, rise of remaining potential, etc. in repeated uses, by adding a disazo pigment having a benzothiazole ring to the photosensitive layer of the receptor. CONSTITUTION:The desired electrophotographic receptor is prepared by adding to the photosensitive layer of the receptor for use in an electrophotographic copying machine, etc., such as the charge generating layer of the photoreceptor consisting of a conductive layer, this charge generating layer, and a charge transfer layer, a disazo pigment having a benzothiazole ring represented by the formulaIin which A is an aromatic coupler, as a charge generating material. The disazo pigment of the fornulaIcan be produced by tetrazotizing diamine represented by the formula II, and coupling it with the aromatic coupler represented by the formula III or IV or the like in which R3 is optionally substituted alkyl or phenyl, in presence of alkali.
