Abstract

PURPOSE:To form an electrophotographic receptor high in sensitivity and superior in durability, by using a specified disazo pigment as a photoconductor. CONSTITUTION:A disazo compound, such as represented by the formula II represented by the general formulaIin which A is an aromatic coupler; and B1- B6 are H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, or hydroxy is used. A 0.1-5mum thick adhesive layer, when needed, is formed on a conductive layer, such as an aluminum plate or paper treated to enhance conductivity, on this layer, said disazo pigment having about <=5mum particle diameter dispersed into a binder is coated to form an about <=5mum thick charge generating layer, and further on this layer, a charge transfer material, such as tetracyanoethylene or N-ethylcarbazole, dispersed into a binder is coated to form a 5-30mum thick charge trenafer layer for use in an electrophotographic receptor.
