Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity and durability by using the trisazo pigments having pyridine rings. CONSTITUTION:This electrophotographic receptor contains the trisazo pigments represented by the general formula (where A is an aromatic coupler). In order to enhance the transferring efficiency of a charge carrier produced when the trisazo pigment absorbs light, a layer prepared by dispersing the pigment in a charge transferring medium is laid on an electrically conductive layer, a charge generating layer contg. the org. pigment and a charge transferring layer are formed on an electrically conductive layer, or the org. pigment is added to a charge shifting complex are preferred. The preferred coupler A is a naphthol deriv. The trisazo pigment is pulverized to fine particles and applied using a binder as required to form the charge generating layer having <=5, preferably 0.01-1mum thickness.
