Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptor superior in durability and not causing rise of potential in the light and drop of potential in the dark even when charging and exposing are especially repeated, by adding a specified bisazo compound to a charge generating layer and a specified hydrazone compound to a charge transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:A charge generating layer contains a compound represented by the general formulaIin which A1, A2 are a coupler residue and a residue represented by the formulae II, etc.; R11, R12 are each an divalent organic residue; X is a group necessary to condense with a benzene ring to complete a homocyclic ring, e.g. a naphthalene ring or a heterocyclic ring; R31 is H, dialkylamide, carboxyalkyl, or the like. A charge transfer layer contains a compound represented by the formula III in which R21, R22 are optionally substituted alkyl or aryl; R23, R24 are same as R21, R22 but at least one of them is naphthyl; R25 is H, or optionally substituted alkyl or aryl, or the like; and n is 1-4, thus permitting a photoreceptor having high sensitivity and superior durability to be obtained.
