Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity and to prevent an increase in light part potential and a decrease in dark part potential even if charging and exposure are repeated, by using a specified pyrazoline compound as a charge transferring substance in the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A laminated structure composed of a charge generating layer and a charge transferring layer is used as a photosensitive layer, and to the charge transferring layer is added a compound represented by formulaI(where X is an optionally substituted heterocyclic group; R1 is optionally substituted aryl; each of R2 and R3 is H or optionally substituted aryl; each of R4 and R5 is H, optionally substituted alkyl or aryl; and n is 0 or 1) as a charge transferring substance. Thus, the desired electrophotographic receptor is obtd. The compound of formulaIis easily prepared by refluxing unsatd. keton represented by formula II and a hydrazino compound represented by formula II in alcohol together with a small amount of acetic acid.
