Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an easily manufacturable laminate type receptor having high sensitivity, its sensitive wavelength range in a shorter wavelength range and a superior property of reproducing the image of a red original by forming a layer contg. a specified disazo compound as a charge generating layer. CONSTITUTION:When a laminate type electrophotographic receptor is manufactured by forming a charge generating layer and a charge transferring layer on an electrically conductive support, a layer contg. a disazo compound represented by formulaI(where each of X and Ar is an optionally substituted aromatic ring or a heterocyclic ring) is formed as the charge generating layer. For example, the disazo compound is a compound represented by formula II (where each of R1, R3 and R4 is H and R2 is Cl, or each of R1, R2 and R4 is H and R3 is Br) or a compound represented by formula III (where A is a group represented by formula IV or V). An easily manufacturable laminate type receptor having high sensitivity, its sensitive wavelength range in a shorter wavelength range and a superior property of reproducing the image of a red original is obtd.
