Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled substance having a carcinostatic action, etc. in high purity as a crystal with improved filterability, by reacting a trimethylsilyl derivative with an acid halide in an ether solvent as a reaction solvent, and desilylating the reaction product with an alcohol.
CONSTITUTION: A trimethylsilyl derivative of a 4-carbamoyl-imidazolium-5-oleate of formula I is dissolved in an ether solvent, e.g. tetrahydrofuran or dioxane, and reacted with an equivalent amount of an adamantoyl halide having preferably a chlorine atom as the halogen atom, preferably at room temperature or below, more preferably 10°C or below. The reaction product is then desilylated with a desilylating agent, e.g. acetic acid or an alcohol, in an equivalent amount or more at room temperature or below to afford the compound of formula II with improved filterability.
