Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A perfluoro(5-oxa-6-octenoic acid) derivative expressed by formula I [is X halogen, -OR1 or -NR2R3(R1WR3 are 1W10C alkyls)].
EXAMPLE: Perfluoro(5-oxa-6-octenoyl fluoride).
USE: An intermediate possibly convertible into a variety of compounds containing fluorine, due to the reactivities of terminal -COX and an internal double bond.
PROCESS: A carbonyl compound containing fluorine selected from perfluoro-γ-butyrolactone and a perfluorosuccinic acid derivative of formula II is reacted with hexafluoropropene, in the presence of silver fluoride, in acetonitirile, preferably under anhydrous conditions, at 10W100°C, under a hexafluoropropene blowing pressures of 0W6kg/cm2G, to give a compound expressed by formula I in high yield and purity.
