Abstract
PURPOSE:To control furnace temp. so as to reduce the fuel consumption to a minimum, and to heat each slab at an optimum temp., by correcting the target heat pattern predetermined for each slab at intervals of a prescribed time in accordance with the actual temp. CONSTITUTION:Target heat patterns for every slabs are predetermined so as to reduce the fuel consumption to a minimum with the charging temp. and the extracting temp. of a slab to, or from, a heating furnace set as initial values. On the other hand, a typical temp. of an arbitrary zone is predetermined, and the actual temp. of each slab measured for every prescribed hours is compared with the target temp. value in order to find a temp. difference, then the target heat pattern is corrected in accordance with the difference, and the furnace temp. is set once again. This procedure is repeated until the slab can be heated to a prescribed temp. in a prescribed time. This method allows to heat each slab to a target temp. by simple control, and is applied to manufacture continuously cast bloom or slab.
