Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance an accuracy for estimate for steel strip extraction temperature by a method wherein temperature control is adapted to specific section of steel strip in continuous heating furnace, and furnace temperature is corrected so that estimated temperature of steel strip at scheduled extraction time will become the target temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Moving steel strip on the skid is heated in the continuous heating furnace. Temperatures are measured on the upper and lower atmosphere in the furnace at preheater, heater, and uniform heater zones. Then, atmosphere temperature distribution of the lower and upper of the furnace are obtained in the lengthwise direction and corresponding to temperatures in each zone. Similarly, cooling water temperature in the skid cooling pipe is measured and cooling water temperature distribution in the furnace lengthwise is obtained. Current temperature at each section of steel strip 2 is every minute calculated by use of the distribution curve. Also, later-time temperature at each section is calculated for the time at which the steel is extracted. From this result, the atmosphere temperature is controlled so that the steel strip temperature at the scheduled extraction time will approach the target temperature. As a result, steel strip which is uniformly heated to the target temperature can be extracted.
