Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the fuel basic unit of a furnace and stabilize the productivity and quality of steel strips to be heated by obtaining the temperature and residual staying time of steel strips in preheating, heating, and soaking zones of a heating furnace and then correcting properly the temperature of each zone according to the obtained data. CONSTITUTION:In a multizone type continuous heating furnace consisting of a preheating zone, a heating zone, and a soaking zone, steel strips of different shapes and sizes are heated to respective target temperatures. The temperatures of steel strips in each zone are obtained from the temperatures of the three zones, the characteristics of the furnace, and the thermal characteristics and heat hysteresis of steel strips to be heated. Furthermore, the residual staying times of steel strips in each zone are obtained from the positions of steel strips, the positions of steel strips going ahead in the extracting direction, and the extracting pitch of steel strips. Then, the corrections DELTATli for the temperatures of each zone for each steel strip are obtained to determine the corrections DELTATl for the temperatures of each zone. In this case, using the corrections DELTATli for the temperatures of each zone for each steel strip and also the weight coefficient Wli determined according to the magnitudes of DELTATli and DELTATl, the corrections DELTATl for the temperatures of each zone are determined by the equation [I], where n is the number of steel strips to be heated in the zone l.
