Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a surface condition of a hot rolled steel sheet at a low production cost, by substituting a part of Ni in the steel with Cr, lowering a slab heating temperature during a hot rolling step, and controlling a slab heating period. CONSTITUTION:At least a part of Ni, which restricts enriching of Cu in a surface layer of the steel, is substituted with Cr in a range represented by the formula of (%Cr)>=2(%Ni). The formation of the Cu-enriched layer is also restricted by shortening a period of storing a slab in a furnace to 3-3.5hr. The upper limit of a heating temperature is controlled in accordance with Ni and Cr contents, i.e., the value R represented by the formula of [2(%Ni)X(%Cr)]/2(%Cu)=R. In case of R<=1/4, the upper limit is 1,150 deg.C. In case of 1/4<R<=1/2, it is 1,200 deg.C. In case of 1/2<R<3/4, it is 1,250 deg.C. In case of 3/4<R<=1, it is 1,300 deg.C. The lower limit of the heating temperature is set at 1,100 deg.C or higher.
