Abstract
PURPOSE:To heat billets to the temp. optimum for rolling with minimum fuel consumption by controlling the furnace temp. in such a manner as to decrease the deviation between the target value of the final heating temp. of all billets in a heating furnace and a forecast value and the weighted total amount over the certain time section of the set furnace temp. of each heating zone. CONSTITUTION:The heating end temperatures of all billets are forecasted from the set temperature within a permissible range of each heating zone and the sub- time sections divided from time sections by giving the furnace temp. set value of each heating zone of a heating furnace and a permissible range to the time and furnace lengthwise differences thereof. Along with this, a permissible range is given to the end temperatures of the billets so that the forecast billet end temperature come within said range. The set furnace temp. in all the sub-time sections for all heating zones are decided in a manner as to minimize the deviations between said forecast billet end temperatures and their target temperatures and the weighted total amount of the furnace temp. set value for each sub-time section of each heating zone.
