CONSTITUTION:In the multizone type continuous heating furnace consisting of a preheating zone, a heating zone and an equalized temp. zone, temp. of each billet positioned in each zone is estimated from the temp. of the atmosphere, furnace characteristics, dimension of each billet, thermal characteristics, and thermal history. Further, a transfer time when each billet is transferred from the present position to a definite distance is estimated from the positions, the dimensions and extraction pitches of all billets positioned at the extraction side from respective billets. Subsequently, from an aimed and forecasted temp. of the billet at the position a definite distance apart from the present position, the transfer time and temp. in the furnace of the present zone and the extraction side, the compensation amount of the furnace temp. DELTATli in each zone is estimated each billet and their weight factor omegali are calculated therefrom. Then, the compensation temp.
