Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the insertion loss of a photoelectric power detector and miniaturize the detector to make manufacture easy by arranging a ringlike light receiver which has a hole to pass through an optical fiber near one of taper parts produced by reducing the diameter of a part of optical fiber gradually. CONSTITUTION:Taper part 11 is formed by melting and drawing a prescribed part of optical fiber 10 and round-shaped light receiver 12 consisting Si, Ge, GaAs, InGaAs etc. which has a hole to pass through optical fiber 10 is arranged on a suitable position near taper part 11. If necessary, taper part 11 and light receiver 12 will be sometimes coated with transparent resin 16 to make them solid. It is also available to attach plural taper parts 13-15 or bend taper part 11 to regulate the qantity of light reception. Thus the light emitted from taper parts to outside can be efficiently received, making it possible to reduce insertion loss. The structure also can be simplified and miniatulized.
