Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of light volume with a perfect connection of the optical connectors, by providing an opening at the connection part of the optical fiber connector and then attaching a lens to the opening part. CONSTITUTION:An opening 2 is provided at the connection part 5 between the optical fibers 3 and 4 of an optical fiber connector 1. Then the cover 8 containing a lens 9 is attached to the opening 2. The state of adhesion between the fibers 3 and 4 is confirmed via the lens 9. Thus a perfect connection is secured between the fibers 3 and 4 to reduce the loss of light volume. Such connector can be formed into a compact size with a low cost.
