Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-precision and cheap optical connector, by incorporating plural photoelectric converting parts and electro-photo converting parts in the same connector shell. CONSTITUTION:The inside of connector shell 1 consists of light receiving element part 2, light emitting element part 3, and lock nut 4, and light receiving element part 2 consists of cylindrical lens 5 having the convex lens function, lens holder holding lens 5, photodiode 6, and diode holder 7 holding diode 6, and light emitting element part 3 consists of cylindrical lens 5', light emitting diode 9, diode holder 7', and lens holder 8. Cylindrical lenses 5 and 5' are so fixed by the adhesive that their focus positions coincide with light receiving and emitting faces of photodiode 6 and light emitting diode 9 respectively, and thus, photoelectric conversion and electro-photo conversion are performed efficiently.
