Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a light receiving device with an reduction in the quantity of reflected feedback light, by receiving light by means of a photodetector in a defocused state. CONSTITUTION:A light receiving device has a fiber module 12, a glass block 17 and photodetector modules 18 and 19 fixed on a substrate 11 and the module 12 has a spherical lens press fitted into a lens holder 20 and an optical fiber 22 is connected thereto through a ferrule 21. Here, one wavelength of signal light out of wavelength multiplex signal light propagating through the optical fiber 22 is incident into the module 18 passing through filter films 13 and 14 to be converted into electricity from light. Other wavelengths of signal light is transmitted through the filter film 13 and reflected on the filter films 14 and 15 to be converted with the module 19 into electricity from light being transmitted through the filter film 16. Here, the modules 18 and 19 are so arranged that a light receiving surface 2 is placed before and after a light beam focusing point 3 of a lens 1 and receives light as being defocused thereby enabling an reduction in the quantity of reflected feedback light.
