Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent defects and increase casting speed by making either the mold driving motor or roll speed a standard and torque-controlling the other, and giving compressive force to the cast slab according to the temperature of cast slab.
CONSTITUTION: The speed of vertical rolls 11 is detected by a pulse transmitter 21, and the signal is inputted to a relative operator 17. Further, the speed of a mold driving motor 8 is detected by a pulse transmitter 14 and inputted to the operator 17. The two signals are compared by the operator 17 and a speed difference signal between a mold 3 and rolls 11 is sent to an operator 19. A detection signal of cast slab temperature by a detector 15 is inputted to a relative operator 18 and compared with a compressive force setting signal 22 which is imputted beforehand, and a compressive force setting signal coresponding to the temperature is imputted to the operator 19. Then, the operator 19 operates a proper compressive force to be applied in the direction of movement of the cast slab and inputs it to a mold driving motor controller 20 to control the motor 8. It is also possible to control the speed of rolls 11 making the speed of motor 8 a standard.
