Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the drawing of an ingot easily and surely without generating breakout by providing a temp. detector near the outlet of a mold, detecting the surface temp. of the ingot and controlling the drawing speed.
CONSTITUTION: A temp. detector 7 which detects the surface temp. of an ingot near the outlet of a mold 3 provided in continuation to the sprue 2 of a tundish 1, for the ingot 6 drawn with pinch rolls 4, 5 from the mold 3. The detection signal of the detector 7 is converted with a signal converter 8 and is inputted to a correcting operator 9, which makes necessary correction operation when the need for correcting the speed preset with a drawing speed setter 10 arises. When the detected surface temp. goes higher than the set temp. the difference therebetween is inputted to a multiplier which multiplies this by a correction coefft. and the product thereof is substracted from the set drawing speed in a subtractor. The corrected drawing speed is inputted to a driving controller 13, which in turn drives a driving motor 14, thereby decelerating the drawing speed.
