Abstract

PURPOSE:To cooperate the speeds of a continuous casting machine and a rolling mill by comparing the detected value of pinch rolls with the preset driving torque target value, and regulating the rolling speed of a direct rolling mill according to the deviations thereof thereby making the pinch roll driving torque always constant. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel 12 is poured into the mold enclosed by the casting ring 16 and belt 18 constituting a continuous casting machine 14, and a cooled and solidified ingot 20 is drawn by pinch rolls 22 and is rolled by a direct rolling mill 24. In this case, the detected value of a load current measuring device 40 which detects the load current of a pinch roll driving motor 36 and the detected value of a revolving speed detector 42 are inputted to a torque operator 44. In the operator 44, they are coolated with the motor characteristics having beforehand been programed from the load current values and revolving speeds of the motor 36, and the load torque of the motor 36 is operated. Then, this load torque is compared with the set value having been set in a torque setter 46, and the deviation thereof is inputted via a PID setter 48 to a direct rolling mill speed control unit 34. Hence, the speed of the rolling mill 24 is so controlled that the load of the rolls 22 is made always constant.
