Abstract
PURPOSE:To linearize the characteristics of the rate of outflow of molten steel and stabilize the molten steel level in a mold by feeding the results of the operation of the amount of pouring of molten steel to an adder, and controlling a tundish stopper based on the synthesized control signal adding a dither signal to this. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel level in a mold 1 is measured 7, and the results of this measurement are fed to a control circuit 8 for the amount of pouring of molten steel, where the required amount of pouring of molten steel in the mold 1 is operated in accordance with the above-described molten steel level. Next, the operated control signal is fed to an adder 13, where it is added with a dither signal 14, whereby both are synthesized. Next, this synthesized control signal is fed to a tundish stopper driving device 12, by which a tundish stopper 3 is driven and controlled. As a result, the characteristics of the rate of outflow of the molten steel of the stopper 3 are approximately linear shapes having no hysteresis. Hence, the stable molten steel level is also obtained in case when the molten steel level in the mold is fluctuated by disturbance in ingot drawing speed and the like.
